The training portal

Your account holds your name, email address, mobile phone number, and your sign-in security: a hashed password and the secret for your two-factor authenticator. The same sign-in works on every Spartan portal you belong to, so these are shared with those portals; your role and status on each one are separate.

Your training record holds your enrollments and payments, every graded attempt and its score, the time you spend in each lesson, hands-on training entries signed by your instructors, and the transcripts and certificates issued to you. Where the school offers commercial driver training, it also holds the licence details and compliance documents you provide. The school keeps these records for as long as the law requires — for entry-level driver training that period is set by federal regulation — and cannot delete them on request while that duty lasts.

The portal keeps an audit log of actions taken on your record (who did what, and when), so a certificate can be verified and a correction traced. An employer or regulator can check a certificate you present by scanning its QR code; that page shows only what the printed certificate already shows.

The practice app

The app is for practice only. Nothing you do in it is reported to the school: no attempt, score, or run ever leaves your phone, and the portal has no way to record one.

On your phone the app stores a sign-in credential for each course you paired (a device token, encrypted with your phone’s secure keystore), that course’s practice questions, and your practice progress and history. Unpairing a course in the app’s settings deletes all of it; so does uninstalling the app.

The app sends the portal exactly two things: the pairing code from the course page, once, and the device token on each sync so the portal can confirm you are still enrolled. It contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking software; it does not read your contacts, location, or files; and it uses the camera only to read the pairing QR code, keeping no image.

If your enrollment ends — including through a refund — the app deletes that course from your phone the next time it connects. Offline, downloaded questions stay usable for seven days, then lock until the phone can check in.

Sharing

Your record is visible to the school’s instructors and administrators. Where the law requires it, the school reports training completions to the regulator (for entry-level driver training, the federal Training Provider Registry). The portal runs on Microsoft Azure in the United States, and emails such as confirmation codes go through the school’s mail service. Nothing about you is sold or shared for advertising.

Your choices

You can see and update your contact details, change your password, and manage your authenticator on Account Settings; unpair the practice app from its settings; and ask the school about your record — the school will correct what is wrong and delete what it is not required to keep.

The portal and the app are for adult learners enrolled with the school and are not directed to children.
